Position Summary

Citadel Security USA is hiring dependable Unarmed Security Officers for weekend mobile patrol coverage in Grand Mound, IA. Officers will travel throughout a large assigned area, conduct routine vehicle rounds, watch for unauthorized activity or property damage, and communicate concerns to the appropriate supervisor or manager.

This role is well suited for someone who is comfortable driving for extended periods, working independently, and maintaining a consistent patrol routine while staying alert to activity throughout the assigned area.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hourly vehicle patrols throughout the assigned grounds.
• Cover multiple designated areas across a patrol area of more than 4,000 acres.
• Check assigned locations for signs of trespassing, vandalism, damage, or unusual activity.
• Maintain an attentive presence while traveling between designated patrol points.
• Promptly communicate suspicious activity or security concerns to the assigned supervisor or manager.
• Follow established patrol routes, post instructions, and company procedures.
• Operate a vehicle safely and responsibly during all patrol activities.
• Maintain awareness of changing conditions across a large and spread-out patrol area.
• Record and communicate relevant observations or incidents accurately.
• Respond professionally to direction from supervisors and management.
• Maintain dependable attendance and arrive prepared for each scheduled shift.
   

Required Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
• Must meet the company’s vehicle insurance requirements and receive approval from the company insurance carrier.
• Must be eligible for an Iowa Guard Card.
• Must meet applicable Iowa licensing eligibility requirements, including restrictions related to felony and aggravated misdemeanor convictions.
• Strong observation and situational awareness skills.
• Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must successfully complete required employment and background screening.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in security, mobile patrol, public safety, military, or a related field.
• Experience performing vehicle-based patrols or routine property checks.
• Familiarity with documenting incidents, observations, and unusual activity.
• Experience identifying potential trespassing, vandalism, or other security concerns.
• Comfortable working independently across a large geographic area.
• Strong understanding of safe driving practices.
   

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Frequent vehicle operation throughout the assigned patrol area.
• Ability to enter and exit a patrol vehicle repeatedly during routine checks.
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
• Ability to remain alert and focused throughout the entire shift.
• Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
• Ability to work both scheduled weekend shifts consistently.
