Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is hiring a dependable Unarmed Security Officer to provide weekend coverage in Glenwood Springs. The officer will help maintain an orderly and secure environment by monitoring assigned areas, conducting routine patrols, identifying potential concerns, and communicating effectively with management and other authorized personnel.

This position is well suited for someone who is observant, approachable, and comfortable working around the public. The successful candidate should be able to recognize developing issues, respond professionally, and follow established procedures without requiring constant supervision.
 

What You Will Be Responsible For

Patrol & Preventive Security

  • Maintain a professional security presence throughout assigned areas.
  • Perform routine checks of interior spaces, entrances, exits, walkways, and exterior areas.
  • Observe activity and identify unusual behavior, safety concerns, or conditions requiring attention.
  • Monitor designated areas for potential security issues and promptly communicate concerns.
  • Help discourage unauthorized or inappropriate activity through an attentive and visible presence.
  • Assist management with security-related matters within the scope of the assignment.
  • Follow applicable post orders, company policies, and location-specific instructions.
     

Incident Handling

  • Respond appropriately to disturbances, suspicious activity, safety concerns, and other incidents.
  • Use respectful, professional communication when addressing individuals.
  • Apply verbal de-escalation techniques when appropriate to help reduce tension.
  • Recognize situations that require supervisory, emergency, or law-enforcement assistance.
  • Request additional support when an issue falls outside the scope of assigned duties.
  • Remain composed and professional during difficult or unexpected interactions.
  • Follow established response procedures when addressing security-related events.
     

Activity Logs & Reports

  • Maintain accurate daily activity records as required.
  • Complete incident reports for significant events or security concerns.
  • Document relevant observations, circumstances, and actions taken.
  • Provide timely updates to supervisors and designated management personnel.
  • Communicate important information during shift changes or when conditions require escalation.
  • Use approved reporting procedures and systems.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling security-related information.
     

Customer & Public Interaction

  • Interact courteously with customers, employees, visitors, and other members of the public.
  • Provide basic assistance or directions when appropriate.
  • Maintain a welcoming yet professional security presence.
  • Listen carefully to questions or concerns and respond within the scope of the position.
  • Refer matters requiring management attention to the appropriate personnel.
  • Represent Citadel Security USA with professionalism throughout each shift.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous professional security experience.
  • Customer service or other public-facing experience.
  • Experience performing routine patrols or security checks.
  • Familiarity with daily activity reports and incident documentation.
  • Previous experience handling difficult or unexpected interactions.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-management skills.
  • Ability to recognize potential issues and communicate them before they escalate.
  • Comfortable working independently while maintaining consistent attention to assigned responsibilities.
