Position Summary
Citadel Security USA is seeking a dependable Security Shift Supervisor to oversee daily shift operations and ensure assigned posts remain properly staffed and operational throughout the day. This position provides hands-on leadership, officer oversight, staffing coordination, and operational support while maintaining compliance with established post orders and contractual expectations.
The supervisor serves as a key point of contact during the assigned shift and must be comfortable making timely staffing decisions, communicating with officers and management, and stepping into an officer assignment when necessary to maintain uninterrupted coverage.
Shift Leadership & Staffing
- Direct daily activities for officers assigned to the shift.
- Confirm every required post is staffed with appropriately qualified personnel.
- Conduct beginning-of-shift briefings and provide clear instructions regarding priorities, changes, and expectations.
- Complete end-of-shift pass-downs to ensure important information reaches the incoming team.
- Verify attendance, punctuality, and timely post relief.
- Immediately notify the Contract Manager of no-shows, late arrivals, or other attendance concerns.
- Arrange immediate coverage for call-offs, early departures, and unexpected vacancies.
- Assume an officer post when necessary to prevent coverage interruptions.
- Monitor staffing levels and communicate anticipated coverage concerns before they affect operations.
Timekeeping & Labor Control
- Review officer clock-ins and clock-outs through TrackTik.
- Identify timekeeping discrepancies and submit exceptions to the Contract Manager for review.
- Monitor hours worked and identify potential overtime before it occurs.
- Obtain appropriate management direction before anticipated overtime is incurred.
- Maintain accurate shift records and staffing documentation.
Officer Oversight & Performance
- Provide day-to-day direction and support to assigned officers.
- Reinforce professional conduct, attendance expectations, and compliance with assignment procedures.
- Monitor officer performance and address routine performance concerns promptly.
- Support training and onboarding activities as directed.
- Ensure officers understand and follow applicable post orders.
- Verify required credentials and qualifications remain current.
- Escalate significant performance, conduct, or qualification issues to management.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure shift activities remain consistent with post orders, company procedures, and contractual requirements.
- Review reports and documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Respond appropriately to incidents and notify the appropriate management personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of staffing issues, incidents, equipment concerns, and shift activities.
- Protect confidential operational information.
Client & Site Support
- Maintain professional communication with authorized client contacts.
- Address routine operational concerns and escalate matters outside the supervisor’s authority.
- Help maintain consistent service standards throughout the shift.
- Support inspections, audits, and management visits as requested.
- Promote a professional and service-focused environment.
Equipment & Asset Accountability
- Monitor the condition and availability of assigned equipment, uniforms, access credentials, and other company assets.
- Report missing, damaged, or malfunctioning equipment promptly.
- Reinforce proper use and accountability for issued resources.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid Driver’s License required
- 1-3 years of experience in private security, law enforcement, military, or a related field.
- Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain any state or local security license or guard card required for the assignment.
- Must provide credible professional references.
- Must provide required I-9 employment eligibility documentation.
- Must successfully complete a background check and applicable client-required screening, including drug screening when required.
- Strong communication, organization, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead personnel while remaining calm and professional.
- Ability to work effectively with management, officers, and authorized client representatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework or education in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- Valid driver's license with a driving history that meets company and insurance standards.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification; ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe if necessary.
- Experience using workforce management or timekeeping software.
- TrackTik experience strongly preferred.
- Previous experience coordinating staffing coverage or responding to call-offs.
