Position Overview
Citadel Security USA is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily operations across assigned contracts and locations in the Columbia, Missouri area. This position is responsible for keeping staffing, compliance, service quality, and workforce readiness on track while supporting consistent execution of contractual requirements.
The Operations Manager serves as an important connection between field personnel, site leadership, the District Manager, and internal support teams. The role requires someone who can identify operational gaps, organize competing priorities, address staffing concerns, and follow through on corrective actions while maintaining professional relationships with employees and clients.
What You Will Be Responsible For
Daily Operations & Contract Support
- Oversee day-to-day execution of assigned operations and service requirements.
- Monitor coverage levels and help ensure all assigned posts remain properly staffed.
- Work with site leadership to identify operational challenges and develop practical solutions.
- Review service performance and follow up on issues that could affect continuity or client satisfaction.
- Help ensure field operations remain consistent with company procedures, post orders, and contractual expectations.
- Escalate significant operational concerns to the District Manager when appropriate.
Scheduling & Workforce Management
- Coordinate employee scheduling, staffing adjustments, call-offs, vacancies, and coverage requirements.
- Monitor labor usage and help manage overtime in accordance with operational needs.
- Anticipate staffing requirements and communicate workforce needs to the appropriate teams.
- Maintain accurate scheduling and personnel records.
- Work with field supervisors to address attendance, performance, and workforce availability concerns.
- Assist with maintaining adequate staffing during nights, weekends, holidays, and other periods of increased operational demand.
Compliance & Licensing
- Monitor employee qualifications, licenses, guard cards, training, and assignment-specific requirements.
- Help ensure personnel remain properly qualified for their assigned responsibilities.
- Maintain awareness of applicable state licensing and guard card standards.
- Identify compliance concerns and coordinate appropriate corrective action.
- Support audits, inspections, documentation reviews, and other compliance-related activities.
- Maintain accurate records related to employee credentials and operational requirements.
Recruiting & Employee Development
- Support recruiting and staffing initiatives for assigned locations.
- Assist with candidate screening, interviews, hiring recommendations, and onboarding activities.
- Communicate position requirements and staffing needs to recruiting and management teams.
- Help ensure new employees understand applicable procedures, expectations, and assignment requirements.
- Support coaching, performance improvement, employee retention, and professional development efforts.
- Provide field personnel with appropriate guidance and direction when operational issues arise.
Equipment & Asset Oversight
- Monitor the availability and condition of required uniforms, equipment, credentials, and other assigned assets.
- Address shortages, replacement needs, or accountability concerns with the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of company and client-issued assets.
- Help ensure field personnel have the equipment and resources necessary to perform assigned duties.
Client Relations & Quality Assurance
- Support communication with clients regarding operational performance, staffing, service concerns, and corrective actions.
- Assist with implementation of new or changing operational requirements.
- Conduct or support site visits, inspections, and quality assurance reviews.
- Identify service gaps and coordinate follow-up actions.
- Monitor adherence to post orders and established service standards.
- Promote reliable service delivery and professional client interactions.
- Help maintain positive working relationships with clients, site leadership, and field personnel.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Provide direction and operational support to supervisors and field employees.
- Serve as a field-level liaison between site teams and the District Manager.
- Collaborate with Human Resources, Recruiting, Training, and other internal departments.
- Communicate operational priorities clearly and follow through on assigned action items.
- Work independently while keeping leadership informed of significant staffing, compliance, or service issues.
- Help establish accountability and consistent performance across assigned locations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience in private security, law enforcement, military, or a related field.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Reliable personal vehicle required for operational travel.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Ability to successfully obtain and maintain any required security guard license.
- Strong understanding of professional workplace communication and documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and changing operational demands.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with District Managers and internal departments.
- Availability for the stated Monday–Friday schedule and additional nights or weekends when operational needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- Previous experience managing workforce scheduling or staffing coordination.
- Experience with contract-based service operations.
- Working knowledge of private security operations and post orders.
- Familiarity with state licensing, guard card requirements, and workforce qualification standards.
- Experience using workforce scheduling or timekeeping systems.
- TrackTik experience preferred.
- Experience overseeing multiple locations or dispersed teams.
- Experience supporting quality assurance, compliance reviews, or operational audits.
- Armed security experience or an armed license is preferred.
