Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is seeking a dependable Unarmed Security Officer to provide security services at a professional client location in Grand Junction. This position requires an individual who is comfortable remaining active throughout the shift while conducting continuous patrols, documenting observations, and helping maintain a safe, orderly, and secure environment.
Successful candidates should possess excellent communication skills, exercise sound judgment, and remain professional when interacting with employees, visitors, contractors, and members of the public.

Key Responsibilities

Patrol & Security Operations

• Conduct continuous walking patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and assigned property.
• Monitor assigned areas for unauthorized activity, safety concerns, or security violations.
• Perform routine inspections of doors, entrances, exits, and other designated areas.
• Maintain a visible security presence to help discourage policy violations and unauthorized access.
• Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, or requests for assistance.

Reporting & Documentation

• Complete hourly activity reports with accurate and detailed observations.
• Document incidents, unusual activity, and operational concerns in accordance with company procedures.
• Maintain clear and organized security records using approved reporting systems.
• Immediately communicate significant incidents to supervisors.

Customer Service & Communication

• Provide courteous assistance to employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors.
• Communicate professionally with client representatives and fellow security personnel.
• Apply effective verbal de-escalation techniques when addressing challenging situations.
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude throughout each shift.

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to complete all required pre-assignment training and client onboarding requirements.
• Ability to attend New Hire Orientation, ACT Training, Taser Training, and on-site CCTV training.
• Ability to meet client-required vaccination documentation standards.
• Ability to successfully complete a respiratory mask fit test.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to walk for extended periods during the entire shift.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to successfully pass all required background screening.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous security, patrol, customer service, or public safety experience.
• Strong conflict resolution and verbal de-escalation skills.
• Excellent observation and report-writing abilities.
• Experience monitoring surveillance equipment or CCTV systems.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during stressful situations.

Work Environment

• Continuous interior and exterior walking patrols throughout multiple buildings and surrounding property.
• Frequent interaction with employees, visitors, contractors, and client representatives.
• Active work environment requiring mobility throughout the entire shift.
• Regular use of electronic reporting systems and security equipment.
• Position requires maintaining constant situational awareness and attention to detail.
