Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is hiring a Full-Time Overnight Unarmed Security Officer to provide professional security services at an assigned client location in Rifle, Colorado. This position is ideal for individuals who remain alert during overnight hours, communicate effectively, and are committed to protecting people, property, and client assets.
Working independently and as part of a larger operations team, the officer will conduct patrols, monitor site activity, document observations, and respond appropriately to security-related incidents while maintaining a professional presence.

Primary Responsibilities

Patrol & Site Protection

• Conduct scheduled foot and vehicle patrols throughout assigned property.
• Inspect buildings, parking areas, entrances, gates, and perimeter locations.
• Identify safety concerns, maintenance issues, or suspicious activity requiring attention.
• Help prevent unauthorized access through consistent visibility and routine patrols.
• Verify the security of doors, windows, fences, and other designated checkpoints.

Access Control & Monitoring

• Verify identification and manage visitor entry according to established procedures.
• Monitor CCTV systems, alarms, and other security equipment when assigned.
• Record visitor activity and maintain accurate access documentation.
• Observe site operations and report policy violations or security concerns.

Incident Response

• Respond appropriately to disturbances, alarms, suspicious activity, or emergency situations.
• Assess conditions and follow company procedures to resolve incidents safely.
• Notify supervisors, emergency responders, or client representatives when necessary.
• Maintain professionalism while assisting employees, visitors, and authorized personnel.

Reporting & Documentation

• Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation.
• Record unusual observations, security concerns, and operational issues in a timely manner.
• Utilize electronic reporting platforms such as TrackTik, Belfry, or other company-approved systems.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling operational or client information.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One to two years of professional security experience required.
• Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
• Basic computer proficiency with the ability to complete electronic reports.
• Ability to remain calm while making sound decisions in stressful situations.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Professional appearance and dependable attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in private security, military, law enforcement, or related fields.
• Familiarity with CCTV systems, access control, and patrol procedures.
• Experience using electronic reporting or workforce management platforms.
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures and post order compliance.
• Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills.

Licensing & Employment Requirements

• Successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation.
• Successfully complete any client-required drug screening.
• Complete all required Citadel Security USA onboarding and training.
• This is an unarmed position and does not require a firearm license.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements

• Walk and stand for extended periods throughout each shift.
• Conduct indoor and outdoor patrols in varying weather conditions.
• Climb stairs and inspect multiple areas of assigned properties.
• Respond quickly to incidents requiring immediate action.
• Lift or carry up to 25 pounds when necessary.
• Maintain visual and auditory awareness throughout the workday.
• Work overnight, weekends, holidays, and additional hours when operational needs require.

Work Environment

• Combination of indoor and outdoor security assignments.
• Fast-moving environment requires sound judgment and continuous situational awareness.
• Frequent interaction with employees, visitors, contractors, client representatives, and emergency personnel.
• Responsibilities involve handling confidential operational information.
• Assignments may include commercial buildings, business campuses, retail properties, educational facilities, residential communities, and other client locations.
