Pay: Up to $23.00 per hour
Schedule: Assigned shifts between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM
Minimum Age: 21 years or older


Position Summary

Citadel Security USA is seeking a professional Unarmed Transit Security Officer to support public transportation services throughout the Roaring Fork Valley. This position is responsible for promoting passenger safety, maintaining order on transit vehicles, and assisting transit personnel while providing outstanding customer service.
The successful candidate will enjoy working with the public, demonstrate sound judgment in dynamic environments, and represent both Citadel Security USA and our transit partner with professionalism and respect.


Essential Responsibilities

Transit Security & Safety

  • Ride assigned bus routes and monitor daily transit operations.
  • Maintain a highly visible presence to help discourage disruptive or unsafe behavior.
  • Observe buses, transit stops, and transfer locations for security concerns.
  • Help protect passengers, drivers, and transit employees by identifying potential risks early.
  • Monitor compliance with transit policies and report violations when necessary.

Customer Service

  • Provide courteous assistance to passengers and visitors.
  • Answer general questions or provide directions when appropriate.
  • Promote positive interactions while maintaining a calm and respectful demeanor.
  • Communicate professionally during routine contacts and challenging situations.
  • Serve as a helpful resource while supporting a safe travel experience.

Incident Management

  • Respond appropriately to disturbances, medical situations, or safety-related concerns.
  • Notify supervisors, transit personnel, or emergency responders when additional assistance is required.
  • Follow established response procedures during emergencies and operational incidents.
  • Assist with maintaining order until situations are resolved.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare accurate activity reports and incident documentation.
  • Record security observations, unusual events, and operational concerns promptly.
  • Maintain clear communication with supervisors throughout each shift.
  • Protect confidential information while completing all required documentation.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent observation skills and situational awareness.
  • Dependable attendance and professional work ethic.
  • Ability to remain composed while handling changing situations.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to successfully complete all required background screening.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in security, customer service, public transportation, hospitality, or public safety.
  • Experience working directly with the public.
  • Familiarity with incident reporting and daily documentation.
  • Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation abilities.


Work Environment

  • Public transit buses, transportation centers, and designated transit locations throughout the Roaring Fork Valley.
  • Frequent interaction with passengers, transit operators, visitors, and client representatives.
  • Combination of walking, standing, and riding public transportation during assigned shifts.
  • Indoor and outdoor work throughout changing seasonal conditions.
  • Active environment requires continuous awareness, professionalism, and effective decision-making.
