  • Monday - Friday: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Additional Saturday coverage may be requested based on operational needs.
     

Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is hiring a dependable and experienced Security Officer to provide daily coverage, property inspections, vehicle-based site checks, and security support at assigned locations.

This position combines routine inspections with public interaction, access monitoring, emergency response, and detailed documentation. The successful candidate should be comfortable taking initiative, working independently, communicating with the public, and making responsible decisions when unexpected situations occur.

A valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle are required because the assignment includes mobile site checks.
 

Primary Responsibilities

Property Checks & Patrol

  • Complete scheduled interior and exterior walkthroughs of assigned areas.
  • Inspect entrances, restrooms, storage spaces, parking areas, and other designated locations.
  • Conduct vehicle-based site checks when scheduled.
  • Look for hazards, damage, unauthorized activity, rule violations, and other unusual conditions.
  • Maintain a consistent and professional presence throughout assigned areas.
  • Identify concerns that require attention and promptly communicate them to the appropriate contact.
  • Assist with maintaining safe and orderly conditions throughout the assignment.
     

Public Interaction & Rule Enforcement

  • Provide clear information regarding applicable rules and established procedures.
  • Address routine violations respectfully and professionally.
  • Use verbal communication and de-escalation techniques to help resolve challenging interactions.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries when dealing with members of the public.
  • Recognize when a situation requires assistance from a supervisor, law enforcement, or emergency responders.
  • Apply established requirements consistently and treat individuals with professionalism and respect.
     

Building Access & Opening/Closing

  • Assist with scheduled opening and closing activities.
  • Check designated entrances and exits during assigned coverage periods.
  • Observe access activity and report unusual or unauthorized entry concerns.
  • Verify that designated doors, gates, and other secured areas are properly handled according to established procedures.
  • Report damaged, malfunctioning, or unsecured access points.
  • Help maintain orderly conditions during opening and closing periods.
     

Emergency Assistance

  • Respond appropriately to medical emergencies, fire alarms, evacuations, and other urgent situations.
  • Follow established emergency response and evacuation procedures.
  • Contact emergency services when circumstances require outside assistance.
  • Assist with directing individuals toward safe areas during an evacuation.
  • Provide first aid, CPR, or Narcan assistance only when appropriately trained and currently certified.
  • Maintain communication with supervisors during significant incidents.
  • Support responding personnel by providing relevant information when appropriate.
     

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare accurate reports covering accidents, incidents, safety concerns, and rule violations.
  • Document relevant information concerning restricted, banned, or trespassed individuals when applicable.
  • Maintain required electronic activity logs and other assignment documentation.
  • Include pertinent details such as time, location, observations, actions taken, and notifications made.
  • Notify supervisors promptly regarding significant incidents or conditions.
  • Keep reports factual, professional, complete, and free of unnecessary assumptions.
     

Emergency & Law Enforcement Coordination

  • Contact police, fire, medical services, or other emergency responders when their assistance is necessary.
  • Provide responding personnel with relevant information regarding observed circumstances.
  • Follow supervisor instructions while emergency personnel are responding or on scene.
  • Maintain professional communication with law enforcement and emergency personnel.
  • Document significant interactions with responding agencies as required.
     

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Reliable personal vehicle required for assigned site checks.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in private security, law enforcement, military, or a related field.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background screening.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle difficult interactions professionally.
  • Effective de-escalation and conflict-management skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions during emergencies and unexpected situations.
  • Strong observation and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Professional appearance and conduct.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current CPR, first aid, Narcan, or comparable emergency-response certification.
  • Experience using electronic incident-reporting systems and digital activity logs.
  • Background in public-facing security assignments.
  • Familiarity with emergency action plans and evacuation procedures.
  • Experience training, coaching, or directing security personnel.
  • Experience conducting inspections or mobile site checks.
