Schedule: Saturday and Sunday | 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
 

Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is looking for a dependable Armed Security Officer to provide weekend coverage in Glenwood Springs. This role focuses on maintaining a professional security presence, monitoring assigned areas, completing routine patrols, and responding appropriately when security or safety concerns arise.

The officer will also support emergency response activities when requested, including maintaining clear access for responding personnel and helping keep designated areas organized during emergency operations. This position is well suited for someone who can remain composed in difficult situations and communicate effectively with employees, visitors, and emergency personnel.
 

Security Patrol & Site Monitoring

  • Perform scheduled foot patrols throughout assigned interior and exterior areas.
  • Check entrances, parking areas, access points, and other designated locations.
  • Maintain awareness of activity occurring throughout the property.
  • Identify and report suspicious behavior, safety hazards, property concerns, or unauthorized activity.
  • Maintain a visible and professional security presence throughout the shift.
  • Respond to alarms and security concerns in accordance with established procedures.
  • Follow assigned post orders and location-specific instructions.
     

Emergency Response Support

  • Assist emergency medical personnel and other authorized responders when requested.
  • Help keep designated access routes clear during emergency vehicle operations.
  • Support emergency personnel during arrivals, departures, and other response activities.
  • Help monitor pedestrian and vehicle movement around active emergency areas.
  • Follow emergency procedures while maintaining awareness of changing conditions.
  • Communicate significant developments to supervisors or designated personnel.
     

Incident Management & De-escalation

  • Respond professionally to disturbances, disruptive behavior, and other security-related situations.
  • Use appropriate verbal communication and de-escalation techniques whenever practical.
  • Maintain a calm and respectful approach when interacting with individuals experiencing difficult circumstances.
  • Request assistance from supervisors or emergency responders when a situation exceeds assigned authority or requires additional resources.
  • Follow company policies, applicable laws, and established response procedures.
  • Preserve accurate information about incidents for follow-up and reporting.
     

Reports & Shift Communication

  • Complete daily activity reports and required security documentation.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports following significant events.
  • Record relevant observations, actions taken, and notifications made during incidents.
  • Communicate important information to supervisors and designated client contacts.
  • Maintain accurate records using approved reporting procedures.
  • Provide clear information during shift transitions and supervisor check-ins.
     

Required Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid authorization to possess and carry a firearm while performing assigned duties.
  • Personal firearm that meets applicable laws and company requirements.
  • Ability to meet all applicable Colorado armed security licensing requirements before assignment.
  • Reliable personal transportation to and from the assigned work location.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background screening.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and conduct.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to remain composed during stressful situations.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and remain alert throughout extended shifts.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous armed security experience.
  • Military, law enforcement, corrections, or related professional experience.
  • Experience working around emergency response personnel.
  • Background in incident response, access control, or security patrols.
  • Strong verbal de-escalation and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Experience preparing detailed incident reports.
  • Comfortable working independently while following established procedures.
