Schedule
- Thursday – Saturday: 5:45 PM – 6:00 AM
- Every Other Wednesday: 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM
- Approximately 37 hours per week
- Overtime may be available based on operational needs.
Armed Security Officer
Citadel Security USA is looking for a reliable and composed Armed Security Officer to provide security coverage at an assigned location in Glenwood Springs. This position involves maintaining a visible security presence, monitoring designated areas, supporting authorized personnel, responding to incidents, and completing accurate documentation.
The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a structured, controlled environment where attention to detail, sound judgment, and professional communication are essential. The officer will work closely with authorized personnel and supervisors while following established procedures and post orders.
Key Responsibilities
Patrol & Security Monitoring
- Maintain an alert and professional armed presence throughout assigned areas.
- Conduct scheduled patrols and security checks as directed.
- Watch for safety hazards, unauthorized activity, procedural violations, or conditions requiring attention.
- Follow company policies, post orders, facility procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Promptly communicate security concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
Personnel Coordination
- Work professionally alongside authorized personnel, supervisors, and other assigned staff.
- Provide security assistance when requested and within the scope of assigned duties.
- Follow lawful instructions from designated personnel.
- Assist with coordinated security responses when additional resources are needed.
Incident & Emergency Response
- Respond promptly to security-related incidents within assigned responsibilities.
- Follow established emergency response procedures and post-specific instructions.
- Recognize situations requiring immediate notification or additional assistance.
- Notify supervisors and authorized personnel of significant incidents or security concerns.
- Take appropriate action in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
Reports & Documentation
- Complete daily activity reports and other required documentation accurately and on time.
- Record incidents, unusual observations, safety concerns, and other relevant events.
- Communicate important information during shift changes, briefings, and supervisor updates.
- Protect confidential information encountered during the course of duty.
Authorized Movement & Transport Support
- Provide security assistance during authorized movement or transport activities when assigned.
- Help maintain secure routes, access points, and designated areas during movements.
- Coordinate with authorized personnel throughout special security or transport activities.
- Provide additional security support when operationally required and within the scope of the position.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must be able to satisfy all applicable Colorado armed security licensing requirements.
- Ability to successfully complete required background screening.
- Ability to work scheduled overnight hours in a highly structured and controlled environment.
- Strong observation skills and awareness of changing surroundings.
- Clear and professional verbal and written communication.
- Sound judgment and professionalism when handling challenging situations.
- Ability to work effectively with supervisors, authorized personnel, coworkers, and other assigned partners.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to remain attentive and professional throughout extended shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Personal duty firearm that complies with applicable laws and company requirements.
- Previous experience as an armed security officer.
- Background in corrections, detention, military service, or law enforcement.
- Experience working in controlled-access or high-security environments.
- Familiarity with authorized movement, escort, or transport procedures.
- Experience preparing daily activity logs, incident reports, or security documentation.
- Strong conflict-management and interpersonal communication skills.
