Position Summary

Citadel Security USA is seeking a dependable Armed Security Officer to support security operations in Glenwood Springs. This position works alongside authorized personnel to help maintain safety, order, and security in designated areas.

The officer will assist with responsibilities in the booking and housing areas and may provide security support during inmate transportation to and from medical appointments when required. Candidates should demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, strong situational awareness, and the ability to remain composed in a structured security environment.
 

Key Responsibilities

Security Support

• Maintain an armed security presence throughout assigned areas.
• Assist authorized personnel with security-related duties in booking and housing areas.
• Monitor activity and promptly identify unusual behavior, safety concerns, or potential security issues.
• Follow established procedures when responding to incidents or operational concerns.
• Help maintain controlled and orderly conditions within assigned areas.
• Communicate relevant observations and concerns to supervisors or designated personnel.
   

Transportation Assistance

• Provide security support during inmate transportation when assigned.
• Accompany authorized personnel during transportation to and from medical facilities as required.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings and changing conditions during transportation assignments.
• Follow all transportation procedures, instructions, and safety requirements.
• Maintain professional conduct throughout interactions with staff, medical personnel, and other authorized individuals.
   

Documentation & Communication

• Complete required activity logs and incident reports accurately.
• Document significant events, security concerns, and actions taken during the shift.
• Communicate promptly with supervisors regarding incidents or changes in conditions.
• Follow applicable post orders, company procedures, and assignment-specific instructions.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
   

Required Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Personal firearm required, subject to applicable laws and company requirements.
• Must have a clean background and successfully complete all required screening.
• Ability to work the assigned 12-hour schedule.
• Strong observation and situational-awareness skills.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and established procedures.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in challenging situations.
• Ability to work cooperatively with deputies, security personnel, medical personnel, and other authorized staff.
   

Training Requirement

• Selected candidates will complete three days of required training in Grand Junction before reporting to the assigned location.
• Candidates must be able to travel to Grand Junction for the required training.
• Additional assignment-specific training may be provided as needed.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous armed security experience.
• Military, law enforcement, corrections, detention, or related experience.
• Experience working in controlled or security-sensitive environments.
• Previous experience supporting transportation or medical transfers.
• Familiarity with incident documentation and security procedures.
• Strong conflict-management and decision-making abilities.
