Position Overview
Citadel Security USA is seeking a responsible and observant Unarmed Mobile Patrol Security Officer to provide coverage across multiple assigned properties in Columbia, Missouri. This position involves driving between designated locations, inspecting assigned areas, recognizing potential risks, and responding to security-related concerns as they arise.
Rather than remaining at a single post, the officer will help maintain consistent security coverage throughout an assigned patrol area. The ideal candidate combines safe driving habits with sound judgment, clear communication, and the ability to work independently while keeping supervisors informed.
What You Will Do
- Cover Assigned Patrol Routes: Travel between designated locations using an authorized patrol vehicle and complete checks according to the assigned schedule.
- Inspect Property Conditions: Examine designated entrances, parking areas, building perimeters, and other assigned areas for suspicious activity, damage, or potential hazards.
- Maintain a Visible Presence: Conduct regular patrols to discourage unauthorized activity and help promote safe conditions across assigned locations.
- Perform On-Foot Checks: Leave the vehicle when needed to inspect areas that require closer observation or additional verification.
- Investigate Reported Concerns: Respond to calls involving unusual activity, access issues, alarms, disturbances, or other security-related matters.
- Follow Emergency Procedures: Assess situations within the scope of your training, notify supervisors, and contact emergency services when appropriate.
- Recognize Safety Risks: Identify conditions that may threaten people or property and report them promptly through the proper channels.
- Prepare Detailed Reports: Record patrol activity, inspection results, incidents, and follow-up actions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Use Digital Reporting Systems: Enter patrol information and incident details through TrackTik or comparable application-based platforms.
- Coordinate With Responders: Provide relevant observations to law enforcement, emergency personnel, and supervisors when assistance is required.
- Maintain Vehicle Safety: Operate the patrol vehicle responsibly, follow traffic laws, and report any vehicle condition that may affect safe operation.
- Follow Post Orders: Apply company procedures and location-specific instructions consistently throughout each shift.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1–2 years of professional security experience.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to drive safely between multiple assigned locations throughout the shift.
- Working knowledge of security operations, post orders, and emergency procedures.
- Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to identify potential security threats and safety hazards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prepare accurate patrol logs and incident reports.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn digital reporting applications.
- Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Professional interpersonal skills when interacting with clients, members of the public, coworkers, and emergency personnel.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and conduct on-foot patrols for extended periods.
- Availability to work one of the listed schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience in security, law enforcement, or military service.
- Previous experience with mobile patrols, vehicle-based security, or multi-location inspections.
- Familiarity with TrackTik or similar patrol management and reporting systems.
- Experience responding to alarms, documenting incidents, and coordinating with emergency responders.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining reliable communication with supervisors.
