Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is seeking a qualified Armed Security Officer to provide weekend coverage in Dillon, Colorado. This role involves protecting people and property through active patrols, careful observation, controlled responses to security concerns, and consistent adherence to established procedures.

The successful candidate will bring sound judgment, reliable attendance, and a disciplined approach to armed duties. Officers must remain alert throughout the shift, communicate clearly with authorized personnel, and accurately document events while maintaining a professional presence.
 

Primary Responsibilities

Patrols and Protective Coverage

• Perform routine foot patrols throughout assigned indoor and outdoor areas.
• Observe entrances, surrounding grounds, and designated access points for unusual activity or potential security risks.
• Identify and report suspicious behavior, property damage, unauthorized access, and safety concerns.
• Maintain a professional armed security presence while following applicable laws, training, and company procedures.
• Take appropriate action within the scope of training and assigned authority when a concern arises.
• Help safeguard individuals and property through attentiveness, prevention, and timely communication.
   

Incident Response and Situational Awareness

• Respond to alarms, disturbances, suspicious activity, and other security-related events in accordance with established protocols.
• Follow post orders and company procedures when assessing and addressing incidents.
• Maintain awareness of changing conditions while conducting patrols and monitoring assigned areas.
• Notify supervisors or emergency responders when additional support is necessary.
• Exercise sound judgment, restraint, and professionalism during stressful or rapidly developing situations.
• Handle security concerns within the limits of applicable law, training, and authorization.
   

Documentation and Communication

• Complete daily activity logs and required reports accurately.
• Record significant incidents, unusual observations, property concerns, and actions taken.
• Provide timely updates to supervisors and authorized personnel.
• Maintain clear records of patrols and other assigned security activities.
• Handle sensitive information responsibly and share it only with authorized individuals.
   

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must possess a personal firearm that meets applicable legal and company requirements.
• Must meet applicable licensing, permitting, and qualification requirements for armed security duties.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must be willing to travel to Grand Junction, Colorado, for required training.
• Must be available to work the scheduled Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shifts.
• Strong observation skills and awareness of surroundings.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with visitors, employees, supervisors, and other authorized personnel.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions, established procedures, and applicable legal requirements.
• Ability to complete required background screening and other pre-employment checks.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in an armed security position.
• Experience performing foot patrols and maintaining a visible security presence.
• Familiarity with incident documentation, post orders, and established response procedures.
• Strong judgment and the ability to assess situations before acting.
• Ability to remain composed and professional during challenging interactions.
• Experience working independently while maintaining communication with supervisors.
