Position Overview
Citadel Security USA is seeking a Full-Time Unarmed Security Officer for a retail location in Durango, Colorado. This position focuses on maintaining a safe shopping environment, monitoring daily activity throughout the property, and supporting store operations during evening hours.
The ideal candidate is observant, dependable, and comfortable interacting with customers, vendors, and staff in a professional manner while working independently throughout the shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols throughout the retail property, parking areas, and surrounding grounds
• Monitor entrances and exits to help maintain a secure environment
• Observe customer and employee activity and report suspicious behavior or safety concerns
• Assist with access control and verify authorization when necessary
• Respond appropriately to incidents, disturbances, or policy violations following site procedures
• Maintain a visible security presence to help discourage theft, trespassing, and unsafe behavior
• Complete daily activity logs, incident reports, and required documentation accurately
• Communicate clearly with supervisors, store leadership, and emergency personnel when needed
• Follow all post orders, safety standards, and company policies during each shift
• Provide professional customer service while interacting with guests and staff

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to work evening shifts on a consistent schedule
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
• Reliable transportation to and from the worksite
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced retail setting

Preferred Experience

• Previous security, retail, or customer service experience
• Experience writing reports or documenting incidents
• Familiarity with patrol procedures and de-escalation techniques

Work Environment

• Active retail environment with regular interaction with customers and staff
• Combination of walking patrols, standing, and monitoring assigned areas
• Indoor and outdoor responsibilities depending on operational needs
• Evening schedule requiring alertness and consistent attention throughout the shift
