Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is hiring a professional and attentive Unarmed Lobby Security Officer to help maintain a secure, organized, and welcoming environment at an assigned location in Columbia, Missouri. This position combines lobby monitoring, visitor assistance, access management, and routine security patrols. The ideal candidate will be comfortable interacting with the public, recognizing potential concerns, and handling situations with patience, good judgment, and professionalism.

This role does not require carrying a firearm or having a driver's license. The focus is on prevention, awareness, clear communication, and timely reporting to help protect people and property.
 

What You Will Do

• Manage Lobby Activity: Maintain an attentive presence in the lobby and help ensure visitors follow established entry procedures.
• Verify Access: Check identification when required, issue visitor badges, and accurately record arrivals and departures.
• Conduct Foot Patrols: Inspect assigned indoor and outdoor areas for suspicious activity, unauthorized access, hazards, or other unusual conditions.
• Monitor Security Systems: Observe CCTV feeds and respond appropriately to alarms or access-control alerts in accordance with post orders.
• Assist Visitors and Staff: Provide directions, answer routine questions, and offer courteous assistance while maintaining appropriate security boundaries.
• Address Security Concerns: Respond to disturbances, suspicious behavior, and other incidents calmly, using professional communication and de-escalation techniques when appropriate.
• Follow Emergency Procedures: Take prompt action during emergencies, notify the appropriate personnel, and contact emergency responders when necessary.
• Enforce Property Rules: Apply established policies, site procedures, and post orders consistently and respectfully.
• Document Daily Activity: Complete accurate reports covering patrols, visitor activity, unusual observations, incidents, and policy violations.
• Protect Restricted Areas: Help prevent unauthorized entry and remain alert around stairways, elevators, emergency exits, and other access points.
• Communicate With Supervisors: Report safety concerns, irregularities, and incidents promptly to support an effective response.
• Maintain Professional Standards: Protect confidential information, remain observant throughout the shift, and represent Citadel Security USA with courtesy and integrity.
   

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1–2 years of professional security experience.
• Strong communication, observation, and customer service skills.
• Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions during unexpected situations.
• Ability to complete written reports and maintain accurate visitor records.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a shift.
• Ability to patrol indoor and outdoor areas, including stairways, elevators, and emergency exits.
• Ability to recognize unusual activity and respond promptly to potential emergencies.
• Sufficient visual and auditory awareness to monitor surroundings and identify potential security concerns.
• Availability to work one of the listed Saturday–Sunday shifts.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in security, law enforcement, or military service.
• Previous experience in lobby security, visitor management, or access control.
• Familiarity with CCTV systems, alarms, visitor logs, and electronic reporting tools.
• Experience assisting the public while maintaining security procedures and professional boundaries.
