Position Summary

Citadel Security USA is hiring a Full-Time Overnight Unarmed Security Officer to support security operations at a specialized residential care facility in Edwards, Colorado. This position focuses primarily on maintaining the security of the property's exterior while helping create a safe environment for employees, visitors, residents, and emergency personnel.
This assignment requires an officer who remains calm under pressure, exercises sound judgment, and communicates professionally during challenging situations. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently while responding appropriately to individuals who may be upset, emotionally distressed, or exhibiting disruptive behavior.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct routine exterior foot patrols of buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter fencing.
• Monitor the property for safety concerns, suspicious activity, and unauthorized access.
• Maintain a visible security presence to discourage trespassing and other prohibited activity.
• Respond appropriately to security incidents while following established site procedures.
• Assist staff during security-related situations by providing support and maintaining scene safety.
• Use verbal de-escalation techniques whenever appropriate to help reduce conflict.
• Notify supervisors and emergency responders when situations require additional assistance.
• Complete detailed activity logs, incident reports, and daily documentation.
• Communicate professionally with client personnel, visitors, and fellow security officers.
• Follow all company policies, client post orders, and operational procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain composed during stressful or rapidly changing situations.
• Dependable attendance and the ability to work overnight weekend shifts.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining consistent situational awareness.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous security, military, law enforcement, corrections, or public safety experience.
• Experience working in environments requiring conflict resolution or verbal de-escalation.
• Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
• Experience completing incident reports and security documentation.

Position Requirements

• Must successfully complete a fingerprint-based background investigation required by the client.
• Must have, or be willing to obtain, any client-required vaccinations before beginning work.
• Must meet all company hiring, screening, and onboarding requirements.

Work Environment

• Primarily outdoor patrol duties throughout the facility grounds.
• Overnight schedule requiring extended periods of walking, standing, and observation.
• Regular interaction with client staff, visitors, contractors, and emergency personnel.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions during exterior patrols.
• Position requires the ability to respond professionally to emotionally charged or unpredictable situations.
