Position Summary

Citadel Security USA is seeking a dependable Unarmed Security Officer to support daytime security operations at a critical infrastructure facility in Nederland, Colorado. This position focuses on traffic coordination, access support, and maintaining secure entry procedures for a high-security worksite.

The selected officer will work closely with gate personnel, communicate with vendors and contractors, and help ensure authorized traffic moves safely and efficiently throughout the property. This role requires sound judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform duties in changing weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Traffic & Access Operations

• Monitor vehicle traffic entering and exiting the facility
• Assist gate personnel with access control procedures
• Verify visitor, vendor, and contractor authorization before entry
• Direct traffic to designated areas while maintaining safe vehicle flow
• Provide professional assistance to delivery drivers and authorized visitors

Security Operations

• Maintain a visible security presence throughout assigned areas
• Observe for unauthorized activity, safety concerns, or policy violations
• Conduct routine inspections of entry points and surrounding areas
• Report hazards, suspicious behavior, or operational issues promptly
• Follow all site-specific security procedures and company policies

Incident Response

• Respond promptly to security-related incidents or emergencies
• Notify supervisors and client representatives of situations requiring attention
• Support emergency response efforts as directed
• Document incidents accurately and completely

Communication & Documentation

• Maintain detailed activity logs and daily security reports
• Communicate clearly with supervisors, gate staff, contractors, and site personnel
• Record visitor information and operational observations accurately
• Ensure all required documentation is completed before the end of each shift

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Valid driver's license required
• Reliable personal vehicle required for transportation to and from the worksite
• Ability to safely drive in snow, ice, and other adverse weather conditions
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently while remaining attentive to changing conditions
• Reliable attendance and professional work ethic
• Ability to pass all required pre-employment screenings

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in security, access control, gate operations, traffic management, or critical infrastructure
• Experience interacting with vendors, contractors, and commercial drivers
• Strong problem-solving abilities and sound decision-making skills
• Experience preparing reports and maintaining security documentation

Licensing Requirements

• Current Colorado Security Guard License (SGL) preferred
• Candidates must have, or be able to obtain, a Security Guard License before assignment
