Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is seeking a reliable and alert Unarmed Mobile Patrol Security Officer to provide security coverage across multiple assigned properties in Columbia, Missouri. Rather than remaining at a single post, this position involves traveling between designated locations, checking conditions, identifying potential concerns, and responding to calls for assistance.

The ideal candidate is a responsible driver who can work independently, recognize unusual activity, and communicate clearly with supervisors and emergency personnel. A consistent patrol routine, sound decision-making, and accurate documentation are essential to helping maintain safe and orderly conditions throughout the assigned area.

What You Will Do

  • Patrol Assigned Locations: Operate a company-authorized patrol vehicle along designated routes and visit assigned properties according to established schedules and post orders.
  • Maintain a Visible Presence: Conduct routine drive-throughs and inspections to discourage unauthorized activity and identify potential security concerns.
  • Inspect Property Conditions: Check entrances, parking areas, access points, building perimeters, and other designated areas for damage, suspicious activity, or safety hazards.
  • Respond to Calls: Investigate reported concerns promptly, assess the situation, and take appropriate action within the scope of your training and authority.
  • Handle Emergencies: Follow established response procedures during alarms, disturbances, suspicious incidents, and other urgent situations. Contact emergency services when necessary.
  • Identify and Report Irregularities: Recognize signs of unauthorized access, property damage, unsafe conditions, or unusual behavior and notify the appropriate personnel.
  • Complete Patrol Records: Document patrol visits, observations, incidents, and follow-up actions accurately using the required reporting system.
  • Use Digital Security Tools: Enter reports and operational updates through application-based platforms, such as TrackTik or similar systems.
  • Communicate With Supervisors: Provide timely updates about significant findings, unresolved issues, and situations requiring additional support.
  • Coordinate With Responders: Share relevant observations with law enforcement, fire personnel, or medical responders when assistance is needed.
  • Protect Company and Client Property: Follow established procedures, respect access restrictions, and handle sensitive information professionally.
  • Maintain Vehicle Readiness: Operate the patrol vehicle responsibly, follow traffic laws, and report vehicle issues that could affect safe or reliable operations.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 1–2 years of professional security experience.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Safe driving habits and the ability to travel between assigned locations throughout the shift.
  • Working knowledge of security procedures, post orders, and emergency response protocols.
  • Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prepare clear, accurate written reports and maintain digital records.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn electronic reporting applications.
  • Professional verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, assess situations, and exercise sound judgment under pressure.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and conduct foot patrols for extended periods when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience in security, law enforcement, or military service.
  • Previous experience in vehicle patrol, mobile security, or multi-location property inspections.
  • Familiarity with TrackTik or comparable patrol management and reporting platforms.
  • Experience responding to alarms, investigating unusual activity, and documenting incidents.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining consistent communication with a supervisor.
